The Journey
Dabet began his Forex trading journey in 2019 while studying Animal Science as an undergraduate. At the time, a prolonged strike had halted academic activities, giving him the space to explore new opportunities.
"Forex trading looked so promising to me; it felt like I had just discovered the Holy Grail," he recalls with a laugh.
Introduced to the basics by his Spiritual Oversight, he quickly became captivated. Countless late nights were spent studying market conditions, learning, and practicing. What started as curiosity soon grew into a true passion.
Overcoming Challenges
Like many traders, Dabet encountered obstacles along the way. The biggest one? The fear of losing.
"This fear held me down for years because, at the end of it, I still ended up losing. I allowed my emotions to control me instead of trusting my analysis."
His turning point came when he decided to let his analysis, not emotions, guide him. He also adopted a vital principle: never trade with money that would be painful to lose. This mindset shift helped him gain stability and confidence in the markets.
Experience and Expertise
Now with 6 years of trading experience (including breaks), Dabet has refined his greatest area of expertise - Risk Management.
"Nah person wey get balance dey come back to trade the next day," he says, emphasizing the importance of protecting capital above all else.
This philosophy has shaped both his personal success and his mentorship approach at Firepips.
Achievements
From making his first million naira to scaling into tens of millions across Forex and Crypto, Dabet has experienced remarkable financial growth. Yet, for him, true achievement is measured differently:
"Seeing those I’ve taught doing well, sharing their results, showing resilience, and living in financial freedom is still my greatest achievement."
